United K9 Professionals

Work with United K9 Professionals

United K9 Professionals offers a competitive private certification program. You will receive in-depth training to understand and utilize our proprietary methods for rehabilitating and preventing a wide range of canine behavioral problems. You'll also gain access to exciting continuing education opportunities and a worldwide network of other specialists who want you to succeed as much as you do.

What you'll learn with us is true canine behavior, not how to teach obedience commands or work with special tools (like shock collars) to manage symptoms of behavioral problems. You'll be empowering families to build stronger relationships with their dogs and preventing dogs from being surrendered to shelters and euthanized.

Our hybrid program includes long-distance training to acquaint you with core principles of Natural Canine Behavior Rehabilitation™ AND extensive hands-on practice with a regional mentor to fully immerse you in working with them.

As with any reputable educational program, there is a tuition for the Natural Canine Behavior Rehabilitation™ certification program. However, please don't hesitate to apply because of costs. If you're the right person, we may be able to work with you to make the program accessible.

Program Highlights:

  • Distance education that lets you learn the basics from the comfort of your own home

  • Lectures scheduled outside of "normal" working hours to allow for your day job

  • Hands-on learning with a mentor in your area to practice with what you've learned and perfect your skills

  • Direct communication with colleagues and company leaders for asking questions, sharing concerns, and receiving advice

  • A designated territory so you have your own client base and aren't competing with your colleagues--fostering an environment of collaboration, not competition!

  • Annual conferences to network with your colleagues and gain hands-on continuing education

  • Opportunities to advance to working with more serious and challenging behavioral problems

Application Process:

Applications are reviewed by several board members to ensure that we fill each class with those who demonstrate the most potential as future canine behaviorists with United K9 Professionals. You do not need previous canine behavior training, but may be qualified through your other interests, experience, and goals.

1. Complete an application.

2. Finalists will be interviewed by phone or in-person (if possible).

3. Admitted applicants will be notified and invited to enroll.

Please note that this process may take up to several months.

We also offer service dog handler training through our sister non-profit, Merlin's Kids, for graduates of our Natural Canine Behavior Rehabilitation™ program. Learn more at www.merlinskids.org.
